...Just use the old one until you need to get tested. Saab Savior's stuff never fit my car right, and then he gave me a hassle. JT downpipe on my car fits right, and I welded on a bung to accept a standard Saab Cat. You really do not need a 3" cat and back, only a 3" downpipe.
I am not enamoured with Saab Saviors exhausts by any means, but in all fairness a 1 year warranty seems appropriate. Just remember, whenever you go aftermarket, things might not last like OEM.
Also, if you ran a tank of bad gas or allowed this guy to test your car with a cold cat, the cat will be fouled or not work properly. Drive a 1/2 tank of 93 octane from Sunoco or 91 from Exxon/Mobil or Amoco to clean up your car. Stay away from no name before the test. Try a new tank of 3:1 93 octane:ethanol added in. Drive on that for at least 2 days to let the computer set to the gas. The day of the test, warm the car up for an hour, and leave it running until he drives the car in for the test. That will increase chances of a pass. Also, if they sell racing gas near you, drain your tank and fill 1/3 with racing gas, and add the ethanol to that in a 3:1 ratio.
