Turbine Housing/Exhaust leaks - advice? Posted by Jonathan Scupin [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
This afternoon, on my lunch break, I ran about a quart of water through my engine (let the engine suck it into the intake manifold through a vac line) and lo and behold, steam was coming out of several places in the engine compartment!
I have a nice little crack in my exh manifold, OK, I'll replace it w/used.
But, but mitsu turbo turbine housing was also leaking a lot, from several places. There aren't gaskets between the DP interface flange and the turbo, so, if I take everything apart, can I machine the surfaces flat to get them to seal? The bolts were torqued properly when I reassembled everything last April...
It also leaked a bit out of the wastegate control arm.
There were several internal cracks in the turbine housing that I noticed last April - Should I be looking for a new housing? Are these even available?
Thanks in advance,
Jonathan
