yea, ignition start module? Posted by CMyles [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Starting/running, Saana88 ![]() ![]() |
Bill V, What's an "Ignition start module"? Ignition modules are readily available new (about $500) and used ($??) and very easy to install (DIY dude). On the other hand if he's talking about the 'ignition amplifier' those are even easier to install and can be bought new for less than $100. You may want to get a second opinion from a reliable independant Saab tech. before you slam another ig. module in there. Dealerships often give short shrift to servicing older cars. You know, GENERALLY SPEAKING, at dealerships the mechanics like to work on the new cars (not so slimey and grimey), The parts guys prefer to sell parts that they have on the shelf (current model parts) and the boss doesn't dislike the idea that a customer is getting the impression that they should just buy a new car. Independant mechanics/shops tend to be more sensitive to the needs of people with older cars. (It pains me too, but '91 was 15 years ago!!) Good luck.
