I don't know what could be wrong, I've looked at everything - but something I have'nt mentioned (beceause I did'nt want to bore everyone w/every little issue)...I bought the car three years ago cheap, as either the head gasket or freeze plugs is/are leaking (externally) coolant. A bottle of Bars stop leak (yes, I know about the risks) slowed the leak to a trickle & I'm researching some perf. mods. incl. a port/polish job on the head before I go taking things apart. What I'm getting at is; could the head gasket be sucking air?
The propane torch trick yielded no change in rpm - I'm reluctant to spray WD 40 everywhere & make a mess. What about the computer? Could an increase in fuel delivery cause the idle to stay pinned at 2000 rpm WITHOUT any air getting into the intake? I'M STUMPED!
