the cruise control is put together with vacum lines the little black rubber hoses undre your dash drivers side look to see if they all are connected, there are also 2 switches 1 for clutch pedal and 1 for break pedal hooked to a little black hose, these switches turn off your cruise if you where to hit the pedals while driving, if on is bad or jammed open it would cause for the cruise not to work. if you have inspected all these componets then you might want to follow the one hose that runnes from the pump to the car cab, it should run right unger the radiator expantion tank
and we all know the radiator gets hot, so hot it can dry out a little black hose so much it could give a vacum leak, but however you look at it the joy of finding the prob. is fun in itself
