The airbag will not go off and you can do the job in a Saturday morning...first time. You need sturdy tall jackstands and a helper makes it much easier. The job is dirty...not hard.

The only issue with airbag is that if you accidently turn the steering wheel a full turn or more while the rack is out and don't reposition the wheel before hooking up the ujoint, you can break the clockspring behind the steering wheel. Airbag light will light up and you will have to replace the spring. To avoid problem, remove the ujoint with the rack centered and tie the wheel with a piece of string. When new rack is in, center it, so the rack is centered when the wheel is centered.
