They come up occasionally on ebay and often go for top dollar. But bargains do happen. They take a standard button battery, but the real issue is the chipset it requires. The receiver under the back seat and the remote each need a small chip with matching numbers. These chips are manufactured by alpine, sold in sets of 3 or 4, and are getting as hard to find as the remotes. The usual suspects used to carry them, so one of them may have some still left in stock.
Remotes are usually 50-90 and the chipsets used to be 30 or so.
