The AMM gives the ECU a reasonable idea of how much air is going into the engine. After the first 5 or so minutes of running, the ECU starts to look at the signal from the Oxygen sensor to trim the air/fuel mixture more precisely.
That's a good indication that the AMM is bad, assuming that there aren't any gross vacuum leaks. Do you know anybody with a known good ends-in-005 AMM that you can try? You can only use an AMM with a part number that ends in 005. If you use one that ends in any other number, like 011 or 013, you can damage your ECU or the AMM.
In Bosch's infinite wisdom, they used the same connector on the the different variants, so somebody could plug the wrong one in.
