I've rebuilt about 10 slaves. The only one that had serious metal deterioration was an 84S with over 300K on the clock. The car was in a noticable state of deferred maintenance. The owner grew up on the streets of Budapest(I may have a previous post with this story). He pulled in my driveway with the slave o-rings completely blown. No hydraulic movement at all. I told him I didn't have the Saab lever tool and had no way to retract the pressure plate fingers. I watched him take some broken rusty tools and lever the pressure plate fingers back and get the clutch out in about an hour.
