The check engine light was removed before I bought the car, but will replace with another.
The car would idle fine 95% of the time before removal of the egr. I actually yanked all the egr componants weeks before the initial ecu swap. I have never messed with the wastegate and only assume its in its stock setting, plus the car is bone stock. Before, the boost would come on quick and shoot to the end of the yellow in 1st-3rd. It had enough power to break the wheels loose in first without really even trying. Now it just feels like a dog in 1st through 3rd. Originaly it would touch the red in 4th and 5th and pull good on the highway, now 3/4 yellow tops.
Although slower, acceloration is now smooth where as before, there was a shudder or vibration, especially in 3rd. Mine is very weather sensitive too.
Since yesterday, nothing has changed as far as the way it runs. I checked the APC system back before I learned of the EGR problem, and it was ok.
All in all, do I need to change the wastegate setting?
I really appreciate the help.
