A couple of years ago, I raided a couple of Rabbits for their CIS injector hoses at the local Pick-n-pull for a friend. The total was something like $12 or so for the 8 hoses. To use them, you'll have to remove the fittings that screw into the fuel distributor. The Rabbit base fittings screw right into the fuel distributor and the injector end screws right into the SAAB injectors. Bosch did good by keeping these things standard.
And ... the fuel hoses won't crack when you move the fuel distributor to change the air filter.
Not having much other experience with CIS (my '86 8-valve only stayed around 2 months before it got hit), all I can say about using small fuel hose and clamping it is that, over the years, a few people have mentioned successful outcomes doing it that way.
