ABS Light problem has me stumped Posted by LIFETIMEOFSAABS [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I am running a 1993 C900 3-Dr Turbo/5-Spd.
Whe starting the car, the dash lights all come on as per the self test.
The ABS light, the Brake Fluid Light and the Parking Brake Light all remain on. When I release the parking brake handle, all of the lights remain on. If I jiggle the parking brake handle a bit in the lowered position, the Parking Brake and Brake Fluid lights will dim and flicker. If I stop moving the handle, the lights remain on at full intensity.
If I drive the car, the Brake Fluid and Parking Light indicators extinguish. (ABS light stays on). If I stop the car, turn off the engine and then restart, the same thing happens with the Brake Fluid and Parking Brake indicators remaining on until I start driving the car. (I imagine that pumping the brake a couple of times might have something to do with this...but I have not been able to correlate that or duplicate it by pumping the brakes after startup without driving the car.)
The brake fluid is up to the full mark in the reservior.
If I try and pull the ABS fault codes from the ECU via the 2-pole diagnostic connector and a switched lead, nothing happens. All of the lights stay on and the ABS light will not flash a code.
Any thoughts? Anyone?
