...Unless you spun the pistons into the valves. In that case you would need a new head unit, as well as the chain. There are site sponsors with the parts you need. You might also need a chain tensioner. A used head shouldn't be that expenssive. Also, isn't Walter Wong reasonably close to your location? He is an independant Saab mechanic and a guy with a good reputation. He is a site sponsor.
If the rest of the car is in good shape, I would consider the repair. If you were planning on getting another car, then you make the call.
