You have to remove the timing chain tensioner from cylinder head.
First remove the 12mm plug on the top of tensioner. Then remove the tensioner body using a 24mm socket.
When you have the tensioner out you will see a little ratchet mechanism that can be opened up and the tensioner can be pressed back.
You install the tensioner after the chain is hooked up and timed on the sprockets and lastly, you install the spring and plug to make the tensioner move and take up the slack of chain.
It can be very tricky to get the chain and sprockets timed properly if you have never done it before.
When you think you have everything lined up, give the intake cam shaft and lite tug backwards with a wrench to see if the marks are lined up.
With the tensioner removed from cylinder head it is possible to move the chain one link at the time to get it right, so it is no need remove the chain sprocket if the chain needs to be moved one or the other way to time the engine.
