I don't think any of us should ever assume a plug is gapped correctly for our own specific application. A manufacturer makes the plugs (let's say NGK in this case), but doesn't gap them according to where they will be used. They're manufactured to a general gap range, that's all. Different engines/applications can use significantly different gaps. An Aftermarket seller (such as Auto Zone) does not have a separate shelf for Saab plugs, and a different shelf for Subaru plugs (if they used the same ones). They have a large group of each plug they carry, and we need to gap them to our specific applications. Even from a Saab dealer, don't count on plugs being gapped correctly. My 2 cents.
