...like Bosch Platinum (I use NGK 7EV, so please don't tell me to use NGK's, I know). Somehow the gapping process damages the platinum surfaces, or something of the sort. That means you shouldn't even check them out of the box.
Personally, I measure all plug gaps, and if any are off, I return them for new ones rather than re-gapping. Usually I do this in the store (my friends own and operate it so I also shmooze while I am gapping). I won't buy plugs I cannot gap and regap. I use a soft metal tool, so it is unlikely to damage any surfaces on the NGK's.
I have not yet had the opportunity to try NGK7EIX.
