anywhere i can get the jack to fit under the car Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Can I use my floor jack on the back axle?, Wolfie, Mon, 26 Jun 2006 15:38:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
i lifted it, (gearbox to get at the motormount)(back axle, redo the rear rotors both wheels) the jack will fit under the front, aim for the brace bar, once you run the jack to the brace bar (right behind the gaurd shield) your going to have to grab the front bummper and lift it not more than a inch with one hand then push the jack under brace bar with the other, take the hole front end up, (both wheels up in the air)
heck yes floor jacks are the best tool out there, just know what is and what is not a load bearing structure.
and know one more thing floor jacks can fale, very rare they do but it has happend, so get a 1 ton baby jack and rasie it to the hight that the floor jack has the car, then put it at a point so if the floor jack fales the 1 ton wll grab the wait and give you time to get out from under it,
useing the 1 ton as a back up is a pain in the backside but when your all the way under the car thats all you will be thinking about,
be full aware of what the car is doing when lifting it and what kind of ground your lifting on,
and be safe, floor jacks are no joke
