I replaced the compressor on my wife's 1993 900S this weekend. We noticed it was leaking oil at the front seal a couple of weeks ago but I got it before it started producing metal and really made a mess of things. I actually replaced all the hoses, the expansion valve, the dryer and put in a good used condensor so I could get it all done in a reasonable timeframe. I followed Tom Townsends instructions and flushed the evaporator and the condensor and ran a vacuum cleaner on them before assembling the system. Then I pulled a vacuum on it for 1-1/2 hours, injected 6 oz of oil (in addition to the 2 in the compressor which seems like a LOT to me but I have never gone wrong with Tom's recommendation) and added Freeze 12 via the high side port and with the can upside down to get liquid into the system. I got about 70 # on both high and low sides afer 12 oz of refrigerant and then maybe another 4 oz with pressures showing 78 lbs on both high and low and then no more refrigerant would flow. I let the system stabilize for about 20 minutes, both guages still reading 78 lbs but it would not take anymore refrigerant. I am letting it sit overnight and then am not sure how to proceed. Any suggestions would be appreciated
