First, I realize this is kinda corny - but if start buttons are good enough for Aston Martin, they can't be that bad...
Anyway, the ignition switch on my SPG has apparently lost something important internally, and turning to Start doesn't always spin the starter. I seem to be able to jump the solenoid directly and crank it over, but obviously this is inconvenient.
I really, really, do not want to take apart the interior at this time, so I think I'm gonna just install a start button and call it a day. Has anyone else done this? Any pics to share?
Right now, I'm planning to put a DPST relay somewhere in the cabin, connect it up to 12v and the lead out to the starter, then use a small switch somewhere in the cabin to activate it. I'm thinking about using a modified Defroster switch (since it's a single position switch...) in place of the A/C button (which I have none of...) to activate it. Anyone have any other/better ideas?
