That's gonna be a tough one. In a hardtop, it's just a matter of finding a set of earlier-style a-pillar trim to make it all work out. With a convertible, there were no early-style cars to pull the a=pillar trim parts from....
I think you can "more easily" put an early dash in a later car - it will look funny, but it will fit. New dash in old car has physical fitment issues.
