Ok, Kyb has 2 kinds of shocks for Saabs. The ones to avoid are the Gas-Adjusts. These were meant to be a heavy duty shock. These were the first type they made available for Saab, and deserve evey bit of the bad reputation this BB gives them. They're stiff at first, freeze up, fail, bad shock, no good.
However , they did develope the GR2 series shock, designed to be only slightly stiffer than OEM to account for weakened spring action. These are the GOOD KYB shocks. Give nice firm ride, good handling, at a very fair price. I've already used them in 3 Saabs that I've owned, and I can't see areason to go to the super expensive Koni's or Bilstein's. I don't need a race car, just a good handling regular car.
The part numbers for the Gas-adjusts start with 2 letters, then 4 numbers example: KG-4532 FOR FRONT, KG-5558
The GR2's are all numbers, 6 places: 343023 for front, 343024 for rear
DON'T BUY THE GAS-ADJUSTS, DO BUT THE GR2'S
