You'd be amazed what taking out the door latches, cleaning out the old ex-grease, and relubricating them will do. I had problems with my '88; the doors would not latch in really, really, really cold weather, so I pulled out the door latch mechanisms, saturated them in brake parts cleaner (just about anything volatile that will displace the crusted up ex-grease will do) and re-lubed with a light silicone-based lube (actually fuser oil from a color copier, straight silicone!). Now they work great, and the silicone works great on door seals and spark plug threads too!
That being said, you will get better replies on the correct bulletin board for your car, the NG900 board. That's why I can't tell you how to get the door panel off (usually by removing the fasteners...) or the latch out. Good luck.
