In my limited experience the dolly thing just screws up your front end. My wife used one to tow her car about 1800 miles and the wheels were tight in the dolly but from hitting bumps etc it made the bushings come loose that hold the rack in place. I had the bushings replaced and the wheels aligned a couple times and it still seems to run a little untrue.
If you can afford it go with the trailer. My 2 cents.
