An overheat is almost *always* followed by a head gasket blowing. Rather than do another engine why not just do the head gasket? That the head to a good machinist and have him check it out. It may need resurface, it may not. He should do a pressure test, and then resurface it needed. you can also get it hot tanked to make it very clean and pretty too! If you didn't run the thing until it seized you will most likely be ok.
but, change all of the hoses and the thermostat, and look closely at the radiator too. Even consideer a waterpump, eEuroparts oem are pretty inexpensive (not cheap, that implies quality is poor). After all, if you do it correctly, and keep your oil changes regular, you should be good for another hundred thousand miles... unless you like wrenching more than driving...
