then you need to find a way to manually move the sunroof back since the gears are all in the motor/gearbox that we mentioned before. All there is for moving it, other than that, are two cables that push the sunroff forward and pull it back.
You won't be able to push it back without releasing the cables from the motor/gearbox. In order to do that, you need to remove the motor/gearbox from the body. Then you undo the two non-metric nuts that hold the cables to the motor/gearbox with an "H"-shaped clamp. Once the cables are released, you should be able to push the sunroof back.
Push it back about 6 or 8 inches. You'll find 4 small torx screws under the leading edge of the sunroof. Take those out and you should be able to slide the sunroof lid forward and gently remove it.
On the sliding sunroof pan, you'll see 4 guide clips, each held by 2 nuts. Maybe one of them came loose.
