An old but effective trick: You can usually actuate a failed SAAB 99 or 900 slave cylinder with a grease gun. I've done it easily with a hand-pump gun, and was able to remove the clutch and cylinder without drama. You still need the spacer tool, of course, and you'll have to remove and plug the line fitting (use a spare bleed nipple). Grease gun will fit on the bleed nipple just fine.
The sawzall method sounds grim, brutal, and messy. Tried the big prybar method - its ugly too. Grease gun is the bomb.
