I'm eager to hear what anyone can offer. You too have probably seen the mangled jobs supposed pros have made of these when they've replaced a windshield.
I think the worst damage comes when they go to put them back in. It looks as if they've hammered them, when they should probably be lubing the rubber with silicone and hand-pressing them home.
I'm facing a windshield replacement sometime soon and would like it looking nice afterwards.
Maybe, if you visit a junkyard you can get some practice in and a few spare trim pieces to try your painting on.
