you may be getting closer to the problem. if you can slide the radio out *and* remove the DIN box if it has one... as I mentioned before, there is a connector that slides onto a connector on the 0/1/2/3 switch. It's on the top of the switch, just at the lower portion of the opening. I think it has two wires, and one may be purple, not sure. If it is off either the 4 position (double BIG arrows on the distribution switch) won't work, or ... none of the speeds work. again, I forget...

Then there is a connector, like the top of a small jar, that has several vacuum lines on it. it's the stuff that makes the vacuum move from one place to another to open, or close, the appropriate baffolds. It connects to the back of the distribution switch by leaning into the back of the switch, and a ring there clips in from bottom to top to lock into place.

The only other thing I could think of is the vacuum supply to this itself. Under the hood, on the right side fender well near the windshield, is a vacuum bottle. about the size of a small football, white-ish in color, may have some ribs on it. this bottle gets pressurized and supplies pressure to the switches when the engine is off, or on too I believe - it's like a holding tank - if you have the engine off and rotate the baffle switch and *nothing* happens, no gas movement or pssst or anything... you may have an issue with the tank. Do you have a Bentley? Suggest you get one, too much to get across without pictures and arrows on the back and all...

let us know if you get any further...
