in short...no...I cannot see how you'll get the pickup tube to seal correctly into the rubber ring in the timing cover. If you banged the tube whilst putting the engine on the box, you probably bent the tube holder that bolts into the center main bearing cap. If you can remove the timing cover in situ you should be able to see if that rubber seal is seated properly in the timing cover, but as Anders says, I cannot see how you would pull the tube out let alone reposition it correctly to sink into the seal correctly. Major PITA, but if this is absolutely your problem, you'll be best off pulling it out. I feel for you...done stuff like this myself!!! Last year was the worst....long story..but now my car is running strong and i enjoy it almost every day!
