f'n Clarion CD players!!

Well my latest clarion CD/Equalizer just s*it the bed. Now I have a boxfull of non working ones. What is it with these things? Why do the CD units quit functioning like clockwork?
I used to be able to get the parts from Clarion USA reasonably. Not any more. Now I will have to go pay handsomly to Saabradio if I want a working OEM unit. Nuts!! (I'm not dissing Wasyl, he's a valuable sponsor. Just not within my budget).
There has to be a better way. Is there any techno heads out there that know how to do a DIY repair on these things. I'd gladly trade my boxful of non-working units for the info to repair just one. I can get info here to tweek my APC, MAF or a host of other electronic components. Surely someone must be able to fix a CD player on a poor-boys budget.
And please, don't recommend aftermarket CD players. I like the OEM look.
