I did just that with my '92 convertible - Clarion sub under the seat. It fits like it was designed for the car, I did trim out a bit of the carpeting and sound deadening under the front edge so it sits lower. And I trimmed a bit of the heat duct too to get it farther forward. It does not interfere with the seat's movement at all. Does rob a bit of rear seat toe space. I cut the carpet such that it covers the rear edge of the sub, so it is completely hidden. Remote control is mounted in the center console bin.

The rest of the system is a Blaupunkt Los Angeles MP3 player with a Blaupunkt Orlando bezel (minimal bling, bling vs. the silver LA version) and faceplate, and a Blaupunkt 5-disc in-dash CD-Changer in the EQ slot. Rockford Fosgate speakers. Sounds great. Word of warning though, the little Clarion sub is NOT going to boom the neighborhood, but it is more than adequate for filling in the bottom end for adult musical tastes. :-)
