...during the extra hour and a half he charged you for. I wire brushed, hard, on an 8" wheel on a bench grinder, all the water pump bolts, till no rust showed, then ran them in and out of block a few times all the way, with WD-40 on their shafts to clean rust out of threads in the holes, till they spun easy, then wiped them clean and used anti-seize on them on reinstall.
What YOU can do to prevent corrosion/seizing of these bolts, if your indy DIDN'T do something like the above, is take his work all back apart and do it yourself.
But I wouldn't worry as he probably did it right, and even done wrong, you'll probably get 100,000 plus miles on the pump before it goes again, and if HE's still there and the pump seller is still there and wants to honor any warranty, whatever labor you're faced with would be minor. And even if he put in brand new Saab bolts and loaded em with neverseize maybe they'd have corroded a little by then.
