After I replaced my accumulator with the GM part, everything was back to normal for a while. Then, out of the blue, I started getting a no-ABS-pump-on-start. It took a few blocks of driving w/o power brakes until a small road bump would start the ABS pump. It turned out to be bad relay contact surfaces combined with a dislocated "relay torsion strap" (for lack of a better name; it's part of the way the relay is configured inside its box).
The contact cleaning procedure I did is linked below, should you ever need to apply it. It wasn't until I had to go back & do this a 2nd time that I noticed the dislocated "torsion strap." (I also discovered that the top half of the contact removes completely from the body/coil of the relay for easy cleaning.) Since repositioning it properly, everything's been great again.
