without major alterations....what about going retro? I have always thought the 900s would look better with four round headlights, like they had in the 70's. The thing with the square sealed beam headlights is they do not quite look right, I think round would. They are a pretty good setup, as you have lots of options in improving the lights. Might want to look for E-codes for the 85, that look very european and similar to the later post 87 style but bolt right in. However there are wiring issues, but not too difficult. They are pricey, and the lighting improvement is questionable compared to the squarish sealed beams. Good luck!
