The signals are the same. There are a few old posts here about people swapping in "real" distributors because they didn't want to deal with working at the firewall, or their mechanic offered it up as a cheaper solution vs. r&r'ing a CPS.
To run a Turbo ignition system from a crank-mounted sensor, you'd need to figure out vac advance and boost retard, as they are mechanically-induced in Turbo ignition systems by moving (via the capsule arm) the Hall sensor's position with respect to its shutter wheel windows.
In other words, the timing would be completely static with a CPS and Turbo ignition.
