It wasn't a reindeer he hit was it? If he drives like my son that would be a distinct possibility. Why I got him a turboed '92 900 I'll never know. Probably because I knew I'd be driving it ocassionally. ;-D

I don't have collision on our '92 Saab, our '94 Saab, my '94 Dakota, our '73 Opel GT, or my '86 LeBaron. We only have collision on the 2002 V70XC. It's just not wort it. If I get into a fender-bender with any of them I'll have them fixed (except for the truck--230K miles) at my own expense. It's cheaper in the longrun.

As far as a salvage title, I purchased my first '94 Comm Ed Convertible with a salvage title. No issues here. It was actually repaired quite well. It drove better than some undamaged Saabs I've owned. It only had 42K on the odometer and I paid about half of the cost for a clean-titled one. Even with a clean title you can't be sure that cars weren't in major accidents.

Deer hit Saabs are easy to fix. The grill mounts with three screws, the hood mounts with two, the headlights mount with five. The bumpers are usually not damaged. The only issue is how bad the fender is damaged. Saab fenders are welded to the frame so replacement is expensive. Repair is usually a better option if it's not too damaged. The airbag is an easy replacement as well, if you feel you need it.
