my 94 Commemorative (160k) was diagnosed with terminal steering rack disease. It's hemorrhaging fluid. As I have no access to a lift and the garage is too cold besides, the indy estimated 700+/- to fix. I have a bent wheel that needs straightening, a desperate need of rear pads/rotors, and a persistent acceleration rumble that says "inner driver" to me. And within the next year replacing the radiator looks like a certainty.
So I figure I would need to commit 1500-2000 to a revival of the car. (particularly if I do ball joints and wheel bearings while they're in there.) But I suppose that money is better spent on the Saab as opposed to putting it down on another car and ending up with car payments. <<shudder>>
So, what has been the straw that broke your backs and forced the sale of your beloved? When do you know it's time to move on?
