On these older Saabs (early LH fuel systems) everything has to be in tip top shape.
No vacuum leaks, clean throttle bore and the base idle adjusted to perfection and then, a new air mass meter.
A person saying that the AMM is good means nothing to me until I have tested it on a car that is adjusted to perfection.
Also having a coworker thinking it is "odd" that a Buick Grand National doesn't look like a Saab as far as injection parts goes also means nothing.
You need to be sure that all vacuum hoses are perfect and no cracks, no broken turbo bypass valve diaphragm, clean throttle body, timing set to 16°TDC, base idle and TPS adjusted to perfection, idle control valve cleaned out and in working position and then maybe try with a brand new AMM (only from Bosch) no after market rebuilt ones like Phyton or injection labs.
How to do all these adjustement has been posted many times here so you will find the info by searching.
