Anything is possible, but as you pointed out leaving it bent could have long-term effects on the turbo. Personally, if everything seems to be working properly I'd leave it. A bent fin surely isn't as large a problem as a missing one, and any attempt to straighten it runs the risk of breaking the fin off...
As long as it isn't scraping the housing I wouldn't consider it life-threatening, but care needs to be taken as it's 100% possible that a bent fin could be structurally weakened, and eventually snap off and end up in the engine. That, of course, would be bad.
