Earlier turbos didn't have them or water cooling...the purpose of oil coolers is more to slow the oil from breaking down than to prevent an overheated turbo. If you change the oil and limit the operation of the car to short commuter type trips you should be fine. If you were about to embark on a trip across country driving 10 hours a day at highway speeds than I would think differently. The idea of disconnecting the APC wiring is overkill, but if it makes you feel better than do it. What does your indy say? If in doubt get an insurance rental for a few days....my 2 cents
