Sorry so late getting back here - I'm "Not Here Often" ;) [trying out a new name...mines taken already & picking one I can remember isn't as easy as you might think!] & have limited access to the web.
I would have to pull the cluster & put it back for the $130 repair. Tushy's method sounds promising though!!! I'll give that a shot after I see to some other needs the car has (I saved it from the boneyard last month for those who miss posts as I do). I have a complete cluster from a 91' 900tc that my Dewalt drill says is functional - are the internals (or entire spedo head) compatible w/my 87'? The cable attachment looks different.
I'll post this again at the top of the list should no one respond due to my tardiness. THANKS!
