The head has 3 spot where water could run out and meet the intake. Between the 4 runners. 1 and 2 2 and 3 and 3 and 4. My 85 has water temp senser to gauge and another for the dash and the 3rd for the now water cooled turbo. Some intakes are casted over. Good chance the intake was not fitted to the head and water is getting out. Which to me is good news. Better the replacing the head or taking it off to have it check. I'd go ahead and replace the gasket from intake to head. Check and make sure the old one was tore or off set or something to that matter. If you can, pull the intake off and see how well the ports line up. I heard there off a bit. maybe an 8th. Do you have the 2.1 head and intake?? Something tells me the gaskets are not the same. I forget.
I have the 2.1 intake and 2.1 cam but everything else is 85. (I port matched and ported out the head and yada yada yada yada
