....And You woke up real Early to get to the kitchen for that new cereal your mom bought the day before, or that new pair of sneakers waiting for you by the door? -That's pretty much how I felt this morning waking up to go downstairs and drive my new purchace to work.
Just picked up a '92 900T 5 Speed for a song last night.
I had to work on it for about an hour in the PO's driveway to get it running after it sat for 4 months, but drove it to my mechanic's place and got it on the lift.
Prognosis:
Needs Ball Joints, Tie Rod Ends, Brakes, Steering Coupler, Driver's seat leather Shot, Heater Blower out to lunch, some funky Cracking bodywork above the rear fender lip driverside. Faded, misaligned bumpers.
Good News:
Intrax lowering springs, Adjustable konis, Cat back SS Magnaflow system, New Michelins, Rebuilt 5-speed Tranny, Outstanding Motor (Very Quiet). No Smoke -even after sitting for so long. New Headliner, good dash. all lights work, good headlights, windscreen and other glass.
I have been driving a '92 900S for 12 years now and all I can say about the turbo is: "WOW".
I am wondering about a misfire or hesitation when the turbo needle gets toward the end of the orange zone. Is this an APC issue? I had to fix a bunch of vaccum lines to get it to start & idle, so I am pretty sure that's not the problem. The car pulls hard under acceleration just up to the red on the boost gauge, then cuts out 2 or 3 times. I let off the gas and it is fine until the boost gets up there again.
Any thoughts? -Thanks, Group.
