i found an issue with my throttlebody microswitch Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() |
this is not the same switch as the throttle position sensor.
this switch is located under the throttle cable`s lever.
i did a search of saabnet post`s to find out more information about the micro switch and the conversations i found had mistaken the micro switch for the throttle position (sensor/switch).
now what im asking about this micro switch is its set up.
seems the switch has four prongs on it.
and i found only one wire hooked to it.
everything seems fine with the motor, idle is fine, boost is far-out.
only thing i came accost is somehow the switch supposed to be linked with the a.c. and when the car is boosted, say from 0 to 55, while the motor is boosting the micro is suppose to shut the a.c. compressor off just for the moments of the boost.
now seeing i have only one wire running to my micro switch i know its not working, i have no idea if the a.c. compressor still runs while im boosting, however if what i found is right it would be.
so... i found is there is supposed only be two wires running to the switch, (much like the blower motors selector switch)
but with me only having one wire i`m wondering if anyone knows where the wires suppose to run, from the micro switch to the motor, and from what 2 of the four prongs are the two hooked on the switch.
from my understanding saab only put the micro switch on a certain year of cars (more or less the 88-89`s)
this is what the micro switch looks like, (it is not the throttle position switch)
