At first you were kind of doing the damsel in destress thing and come to find out you're under the hood gettin' your hands greasy-I'm impressed. You don't need a "handyman" when you can, with the help of this board, be a "handy women." Everyone here learned everything they know about C900's one step at a time, by trial and error and with the help of others who knew more--on this board and elsewhere. You've taken the first step by gettin' out there, gettin' the hood open and figuring it out for yourself. In answer to your questions, dis-connecting your battery is the simplest solution to leaving it sit. Middle vents blow outside air independantly of the ventilation system. Sounds like the AC needs a shot of freon, if you're lucky it'll last the summer. Windsheild washer leak could be any of the rubber lines, the reservoir, or the check valves, you just have to poke around and see if you can see where it's leaking--which is what a professional mechanic will do for $60-$80 an hour.
