I thought by now I'd know every last place a c900 could rust. Today found a new one. I was drying my car after washing and noticed a discoloration (very slight I'm seriously anal) on the rubber molding/weatherstrip on the drivers door on the leading edge. It looked rust colored so I got suspicious.
I think this part of the car is called the "A" pillar - the pillar beside the windshield above the side mirror where the door meets the pillar. Anyway... I peeled back the edge of that black rubber molding that the windshield fits in... the edge where it wraps around where the door closes. Yeah. Big Rust spot there.
How odd.
Its almost like the windshield was leaking. Or there wsa some defect when they originally painted the car. And its not at the top or bottom of the windshield... it's about 50% of the way up. About 1 inch long. Pretty decayed actually.
Oh well, got a dremel and some POR15, so I'll fix it but you might want to peel back the windhshield rubber molding here and take a look. I was pretty surprised considering that this car is really clean / very minimal rust. I hope this isnt' the tip of an iceberg !
