I`d be lying if i said there would be little repair cost Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: thinking of buying..., Craig Scheel, Mon, 14 May 2007 19:00:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
because it is what it is.
if the car is wanted to just sit in a garage and look pretty then the cost of repair will be next to none.
if the car is wanted for a daily driver, which i`ll say there is no better car to be selected as a daily driver then the repair cost will be sufficient,
sufficient as in how the driver drives the car
as for me, i drive my spg to the end of the earth and back, then turn right back around and make the trip again,
and well the over all cost to keep the car running through-out the years is probably around 3,000 or perhaps 6,000 i forget, but know,.. this is only in parts no labor cost, if i took no part in fixing the car the cost of repair would most likely be triple, and i would get to know triple A`s towing very well.
but that one thing thats ingenious about the 900, if the car breaks down no matter where you are if you got the `do it yourself skillz and frequent saabnet, then the car can be fixed any where.
engineous meaning right down to the saab 900 switches are able to be taken appart and cleaned, the basic design of the car is a mechanics or a diy owner's dream.
it kinda sounds like i should host the next commercial for all the greatness said about the 900.
but hey,.. the best way to some it up is, the 900 will leave you feeling great-full and in a split second it can leave you feeling pissed, (why me)
we all said it, its the nature of the car.
it is up to the owner of the car (if they really want to know their car, or if they don`t)
just know the 900 motor is put together with many independent pieces,
and each piece has a critical job to do, every-piece relies on each other,
and if one piece dose not work or is freaking out, it will make the hole car follow suit, its the owner that has to know the difference and job of each piece, and that will mean the difference of a 1100$ repair or a 40$ repair.
the car is ........... saab
