First, i would consider not taking the car to this indy anymore. Testing to see if the switch is the culprit is literally a 2 minute exercise. Osmthing that you can do youself . . . for free! Just pry up the whole central switch pack, pull the connector off the back of the supposed bad switch and swap it with a plug from one of the other (operational) windows. If the window still doesn't work then it isn't the switch. As a side note, i've also never met a switch that couldn't be reconditioned. In other words you don't need to buy anything new.
Follow the instructions from the other posters for testing the motor. In addition to bad/worn brushes i have seen window motors that were seized at the bearing/bushing attached to the outer casing. There was so much friction that the motor just couldn't turn the little external gear. No amount of lubrication could free it so i ended up replacing the motor with one from a wreckers (for $30).
