Cat back exh & heat shield for the 85'...I don't mind removing the seats at all...the prev. owner had a couple of dogs & despite three days of vacuuming...there's still what looks like three or four hamsters wedged between the seats & center console!

How come you think it's a tough job? Once the seats & center console are out, the bolts are easy to get to right? Maybe I should reserve comment until after I finish! As long as I don't have to yank the shifter assembly I'm happy. I like your idea about reversing the bolts so they are accessible from underneath...sometimes engineers fall asleep on the job...did you know it costs $1800 to replace a water pump on a PT Cruiser!?!! The whole motor has to come out! That's just plain stupidity.

I just rescued the 87' turbo from a salvage yard & among the many problems the car had that put it there, the front pipe had disintegrated, allowing the cat to swivel up & chafe through the already worn out heat shield, then rubbed a lot of undercoating off the tunnel. So I've got to attend to that before the new heat shield goes up. I got a really nice used front pipe for $30 (bonus!) from a local Saab Indie...it's a much heavier gauge steel than the old one, so I expect it will last a long time.

Call or email Dean at eEuroparts (dean "AT" eeuroparts.com) about the rear heat shield...he's been able to get me several items not listed on their website.

Thanks
