Repair SAAB's for a Living - I'd go nuts!

I love my car, and will work on it until God takes it away, but If I did this for a living, with my current temperament, tools and knowledge I'd go nuts!
OK, so at idle, there is a little bit of blow coming out of the dipstick tube. It's very slight, but it's there. Does this mean Piston Rings? When I rebuilt the motor (last december), I specifically chose gapless rings to alleviate blow-by and durring the break-in I ran the car with some gusto to help the dumb things seat (yes, I did Hone the cylinders). Or could it be the head gasket as so many have suggested?
I have a freind who can help me do a compression check and check blowby, but that may not be for several days yet.
Unfortunately, I don't have an oil pressure gauge to check on, but If I did, what should I look for under boost?
Thanks so much for your help!
